Our ‘What Next?’ meeting focused on supporting initiatives to make things happen.
The different initiatives that emerged from the Heart Talk Porty conversations have progressed in different ways and are at different stages. Some – like the community fridge – have really taken off. Others – like the community cinema – are on a slower burn. Yet others require structural change, and rely on dilaogue with existing structures (e.g. with Edinburgh Council about Seafield or the Prom), or with ourselves (e.g. the restructuring of Action Porty to be more outward facing, or our community developing deeper democratic processes).
If you’d like to join us please let us know (at the email below). The ideas and initiatives discussed in the Heart Talk Porty conversations are in our report (see link below).
“HeartTalk Porty is a project of Action Porty (who run Bellfield), with help from Grassroots2Global (who support community processes, e.g. in Torry). The group of locals who have come together to help organise it include folk involved in Action Porty, the Wash House, St Marks, and other venues and local organisations.
